Processing a file and keeping it are separate steps. A preview shows a result, while Save or Share exports it. DeskKit puts the filename field before those actions so you can choose a useful name rather than sorting through several files called “image”.
Choose a name before exporting
Use a name that describes the result, such as profile-photo-small or invitation-web-version. DeskKit adds the extension for the encoded image or text output. Characters that commonly cause filename problems are replaced, and a blank name falls back to a default. Avoid including sensitive details in a filename if you intend to share the file.
What Save does
Save asks the browser to download a new file. The browser or operating system controls where it goes and whether you see a prompt. On Android, check your browser’s Downloads view or your device’s file manager. DeskKit does not have access to browse your device’s entire storage.
What Share does
If the browser supports sharing files, Share opens the system share sheet. You choose the receiving app and complete its flow. DeskKit does not select a private conversation or send the file to someone automatically. If file sharing is unavailable, the tool downloads the result and explains that fallback.
Sharing to WhatsApp
- Create and inspect your result.
- Choose a filename and press Share.
- If WhatsApp appears in the device’s share sheet, select it.
- Choose the intended conversation in WhatsApp and check the attachment before sending.
- If sharing falls back to download, open WhatsApp yourself and attach the saved file through the relevant picker.
If you cannot find the output
First check whether the browser reported a completed download. Search for the filename you chose rather than the source image’s name. If you dismissed or cancelled the share sheet, the receiving app may not have received anything. Use Save to create a local copy if you need one.
Keep the source until you finish
Open the exported file and verify it before deleting any originals. DeskKit asks before closing an active workspace with an unsaved result, but reloading a browser page can still clear work. A preview alone is not a durable backup.
